March 16, 2022
American Symphony is scheduled to begin cruising the Mississippi River in August. Construction is also underway at the yard on the company’s sixth new riverboat, American Serenade.
Sister of 2021's American Melody
American Symphony will feature the same design and features showcased aboard 2021 sister American Melody, including the series' opening bow and retractable gangway.
The five-deck American Symphony will accommodate 175 passengers in all-balcony staterooms. Ship features include a four-story glass atrium, indoor and outdoor dining venues, large fitness center, multiple lounges and a top deck showcasing a Skywalk and an ellipse cutout cantilevered over the café on Deck 4 below.

Immediately after the launch, American Symphony was positioned in Chesapeake’s East Outfitting Basin where it will receive its upper decks and outfitting.
The shipyard has a long history of designing for American Cruise Lines, including the line’s recently announced Project Blue fleet, coming in 2023 and planned to stretch to 12 vessels.
Lower and Upper Mississippi cruises
American Symphony will sail eight-day Lower Mississippi River cruises between New Orleans and Memphis before beginning Upper Mississippi sailings between St. Louis and St. Paul, Minnesota.
American Cruise Lines offers more than 10 itineraries on the Mississippi that range from five days to 22 days. Its Mississippi fleet includes American Melody, American Jazz, American Heritage and American Splendor.
