China Merchants Heavy Industries launches Ocean Albatros

Ocean Albatros, sixth in the Infinity series for SunStone Maritime Group, was launched at China Merchants Heavy Industries in Haimen last Friday.

Delivery is planned for spring 2023, after which Ocean Albatros will go on year-round charter to Denmark's Albatros Expeditions.

Sylvia Earle and Ocean Odyssey in 2022

Before that, the Infinity-class Sylvia Earle and Ocean Odyssey are scheduled for delivery in 2022.

Earlier vessels in the series are Greg Mortimer, Ocean Explorer and Ocean Victory.

Infinity-class vessels measure 104 meters/341 feet, with a beam of 18 meters/59 feet and draft of 5.1 meters/16.7 feet. They are built to Ice Class 1A, Polar Class 6.

Capacity ranges from 130 to 200 passengers, with room for 85 to 115 crew.
