CSSC begins mock-up of Carnival's first China-built cruise ship

The L3 mock-up is a simulated cruise ship building project. The shipyard will establish the process, test and verify the model for each step of design, purchase, research and production.
The first phase of the L3 mock-up, led by the H1508 project team of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, is scheduled for delivery in August. The next phase will be interior outfitting, which is expected to be completed by the end of October.
CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Ltd.
Carnival Corp. signed an agreement with Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and China Investment Corp. in 2015 to establish the Hong Kong-based China joint venture, CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Ltd., and to build cruise ships in Waigaoqiao, with technical and design support provided by Fincantieri.
In February 2017, CSSC and Carnival Corp. announced the agreement to build two cruise ships (133,500gt each) at SWS for the joint venture. The first is scheduled for delivery in 2023.
