CSSC Cruise Technology introduces 80,000gt cruise ship design
CSSC Cruise Technology Development, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corp., is launching a new 80,000gt cruise ship design.
This follows the first China-built 150,000gt cruise ship in partnership with Carnival Corp. & plc for the recently named Adora Cruises.
Approval in principal
The new design has obtained approval in principal from China Classification Society, a further step for China to promote localization for cruise ship supply chain development.
The high-end 80,000gt cruise ship, measuring 293.5 metres/963 feet in length and 34 metres/112 feet at the beam, meets the latest Tier III of the IMO's Energy Efficiency Design Index. Key technology indexes are up to the advanced standard of the same type of vessel globally.
Compared with the first cruise ship, the new design makes improvements in passenger space ratio and crew to passenger ratio. The proportion of balcony staterooms will exceed 69%.
