Fincantieri's Monfalcone shipyard floated out 2025's Star Princess with a ceremony attended by Princess Cruises President John Padgett.

The approximately 178,000gt, LNG-powered ship is the sister of this year's Sun Princess.

Monfalcone Shipyard Director Cristiano Bazzara hosted the proceedings, while madrinas for the ceremony were Sun Princess Third Engineer Chiara del Vecchio and Francesca Maraventano, executive assistant at the yard.

Star Princess senior officers announced

Padgett also took the occasion to announce Commodore Nick Nash and Capt. Gennaro Arma, both on hand for the ceremony, will serve as masters of Star Princess. Arma will serve as master when the ship is delivered next fall ahead of Nash’s turn at the helm.

Additional Star Princess senior officers include Chief Engineers Gaetano Guida and Massimiliano Imperiale, Staff Capts. Chris King and Michele Russo and Hotel General Managers Ralph D'Souza and Bosco Pires — Princess veterans all.

Star Princess is scheduled for fall 2025 delivery.
