The 135-metre-long, 163-passenger vessel takes its name from the Latin for ‘valuable’ or ‘precious.’

Kirsty Reid, product and sales manager for Amadeus River Cruises in the UK said Amadeus Cara will ‘serve as much needed extra capacity’ resulting from demand for the line’s river cruises.

Design

Unique to the vessel is a newly designed sun deck with a lower sun deck lounge.

The concept for its interiors is based on the Amadeus Silver series, with staterooms on the Strauss and Mozart decks revealing panoramic window fronts which can be lowered and extended. The 10 suites feature a walk-in balcony.

The new addition will also comprise venues seen onboard earlier Amadeus vessels, including the: Panorama Restaurant, Panorama Bar and Lounge, Café Vienna, Amadeus Club, open-air River Terrace lounge and a fitness and massage room.

A newly developed air filtration system will be fitted on board, offering a two-stage cleaning system.

Inaugural voyage

Amadeus Cara's first voyage will be an eight-day Rhine cruise between Basel and Amsterdam departing June 10, 2022. Prices start at £1,686.40 per person based on two people sharing and include beer, wine and soft drinks with lunch and dinner, use of on-board bicycles, Wi-Fi, taxes and port charges.
