High-tech entertainment options unveiled for MSC Seascape

The highlight will be ROBOTRON, an amusement ride that offers the breath-taking thrill of a roller-coaster at sea combined with a personalised DJ music experience.

MSC Seascape will also feature two brand-new virtual reality experiences and a range of other high-tech entertainment designed for all ages. 

ROBOTRON is a robotic arm with an attached gondola that seats three guests, flying them 53mtr above the sea.  Riders will have an unobstructed 360-degree view as they hang over the edge of the deck, twist and turn in different directions and flip upside down.

Personalised DJ experience

ROBOTRON will offer a personalised DJ experience where guests are invited to curate their musical journey with colours, music preferences and more. 

Seated on the mixer, guests will be behind the DJ booth, with the rhythm and bass visualised as colourful patterns, pulses of light and people dancing on a giant video screen all while the robotic arm is bouncing and twisting in tempo.

Virtual reality

Other high-tech entertainment features on board MSC Seascape include a VR 360-degree Flight Simulator complete with VR headsets and impressive special effects; VR motorbikes and MSC Formula Racer and Immersive XD Cinema.

Brandon Briggs, SVP onboard revenue, MSC Cruises, said, ‘We are excited to provide guests with endless high-tech entertainment options on board MSC Seascape to meet the desires of adrenaline-seekers looking to experience the latest thrills.

‘ROBOTRON, the first-ever robotic amusement ride to appear on a cruise ship, will create a new standard of fun with an immersive, customised ride experience, unique to each rider,’ he added.

New York naming

MSC Seascape will be launched on December 7 at a naming ceremony in New York before positioning at PortMiami for year-round Caribbean sailings, with two different itineraries: Eastern Caribbean calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Nassau, San Juan and Puerto Plata and Western Caribbean calling at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Cozumel, George Town and Ocho Rios.

Ahead of the naming ceremony, MSC Seascape will sail from Rome (Civitavecchia) to New York on a 17-night voyage visiting Barcelona, Valencia and Cadiz, Funchal, Madeira and King's Wharf, Bermuda before arriving in New York.
