In years past, hotel brands that looked at cruising 'saw all these barriers because they didn't understand the shipping business. Those barriers are broken now by Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons,' according to Dietmar Wertanzl, a luxury cruise veteran senior executive who's a hotelier by trade and currently president and CEO of CMI Leisure.

Besides Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons, with their different models, Aman Resorts plans a yacht in partnership with Cruise Saudi, and the cover story looks at other hotel brands that may come in.

2022's top stories, 2023's new ships previewed

Seatrade Cruise Review also recaps 2022's top stories as read on Seatrade Cruise News and previews 2023's 19 oceangoing newbuilds in an at-a-glance feature.

Deputy Editor Holly Payne discovers Doha, journeys to the North Cape and dives into Madeira.

Renata Ribeiro, Ted Blamey, the new MSC World Europa and more

Other features include a conversation with SVP Renata Ribeiro on Carnival Corp. & plc's destination development plans, Ted Blamey honored for his contribution to Asia's cruise industry, what's cooking on the new MSC World Europa, the cost of shore power and a visit to Silversea Cruises' new Antarctica 'base camp,' Puerto Williams in southern Chile.

Plus, technical products and services, port updates, the orderbook, Refurb & Interiors and more.
