Icon of the Seas successfully completed its initial sea trials in the Baltic Sea and returned to Meyer Turku on Thursday.

More than 450 workers on board carried out preliminary assessments of Icon’s main engines, hull, lifeboats and thrusters, among other systems and equipment, covering an extensive checklist of key technical areas.

Icon of the Seas will undergo a second round of sea trials later this year

Between preparations and the trials, the journey to get Icon to this milestone involved over 2,000 specialists, hundreds of nautical miles traveled and more than 350 hours of work.

Next up will be a second round of sea trials later this year, when the first Icon-class ship is pushed to its limits ahead of delivery.

Royal Caribbean International's latest and greatest is set to debut at PortMiami in January 2024.
