24th ship in the fleet

'We have so many reasons to celebrate now that Carnival Celebration has joined as the 24th ship in our fleet. Now, more guests will experience all that our innovative Excel-class has brought to cruising,' Duffy said. 'She represents the culmination of our 50th birthday while also shining a light on our bright future with so much more excitement to come.'

'I feel great pride in being able to see how my team at the Meyer Turku shipyard and the whole Finish maritime network have once again managed to realize such a complex project in such a short time,' Meyer said.

Home at PortMiami's redesigned Terminal F

The ship is due to arrive at its year-round PortMiami home at the redesigned Terminal F on Nov. 20 following a 14-day trans-Atlantic 'Carnival Journeys' cruise from Southampton.

Nov. 20 naming ceremony

A naming ceremony will be held that evening with Cassidy Gifford, Kathie Lee's daughter, serving as the godmother.

Carnival Celebration will operate weeklong eastern and western Caribbean cruises to destinations including San Juan, Cozumel and Grand Turk.
