Scenic shares first look at Scenic Eclipse II
Scenic Cruises shared a timelapse video chronicling the build of Scenic Eclipse II, to be floated out later this month in Rijeka, Croatia and entering service April 2023.
The video highlights progress on the vessel at the Scenic Group-owned MKM Yachts shipyard, as well as the innovation and technology involved in its development. According to Scenic Group, building Scenic Eclipse II at its own ‘in-house’ shipyard allows complete control over the vessel’s design, build and operation and enables the swift translation of ideas into reality.
Discovery yachts
Explained Andrea Stafford, director of trade sales UK, Scenic Group: ‘...Our discovery yachts are unique in that they can handle extreme and diverse conditions, meaning they can go from the icy waters of the Arctic and Antarctic to the warmth of the Caribbean, and explore ports and coves that larger vessels just cannot access.’
Stafford added, ‘We are intent on innovating and raising the game in the ultra-luxury cruise sector and are doing this by refining the onboard experience and delivering exciting new destinations. There is no limit to our ambition, which is what our discerning guests expect.’
Modification of original Scenic Eclipse design
The vessel is almost identical to sister yacht Scenic Eclipse but some tweaks have been made based on feedback from passengers and crew. For instance, passengers can expect to see enhancements to the Senses Spa and a larger pool and outdoor area on Deck 10.
Scenic Eclipse II will make its inaugural sailing from Lisbon, Portugal in April 2023. Its maiden season includes sailings in the Mediterranean, Scotland, the Americas, the Caribbean and both polar regions.
In 2024, the ship will visit Australia, Polynesia and Indonesia.
