Sun Princess delivery delayed, Feb. 8 inaugural cruise canceled

This means the Feb. 8 inaugural cruise from Barcelona, a 10-day trip, is canceled.

First of a new platform

The largest ship ever built in Italy and first of a new platform had been expected to be handed over Jan. 31.

'We understand that this news is disappointing, and we share in that disappointment. We recognize the anticipation that surrounded this sailing, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this cancellation causes,' Princess President John Padgett said.

Refund and future cruise credit

Passengers booked on the inaugural cruise will receive a full refund and a 50% future cruise credit to be used on any Princess sailing. Travel advisor commissions are protected.

Passengers also will receive up to $200 per person for airline change fees.

The future cruise credit must be booked by Nov. 30, 2024 for a cruise sailed by the end of 2025.
