Vard floated out Viking Polaris, the second 378-passenger expedition newbuild for Viking.

Scheduled to debut in summer 2022, the ship follows Viking Octantis, coming in early 2022.

Arctic and Antarctica-bound

Viking Polaris will spend its maiden season sailing in the Arctic and Antarctica, while Viking Octantis will operate in Antarctica and North America’s Great Lakes.

Following the float-out, Viking Polaris was moved to an outfitting dock for further construction and interior build-out. The ship is to be delivered by Vard's facility in Søviknes, Norway.
