Fincantieri extends its long-running series of newbuilds for Viking, which confirmed four more orders based on six options from a May 2018 contract.

Fincantieri and Viking have put into effect the contracts for the third and fourth options. The companies also signed a contract for the fifth and sixth units, subject to financing.

€1.7b of business

The total value for these orders is about 1.7b.

Deliveries are scheduled in 2026 and 2027, with two in 2028.

Hydrogen fuel cells

The new units are designed to use hydrogen fuel cells.

18 Viking vessels from Fincantieri/Vard

These ships follow the 10 ordered by Viking since 2012 and make a total of 18 vessels from Fincantieri for the owner, including two expedition ships from subsidiary Vard.
