Chantiers de l'Atlantique cut steel for the sixth Oasis-class ship, Utopia of the Seas, which will be the first powered by LNG.

The ship is scheduled for delivery in spring 2024.

At a ceremony, Utopia’s first piece of steel was cut to mark the start of the 30-month construction process. Representatives from Royal Caribbean and Chantiers de l’Atlantique included Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group, and Laurent Castaing, GM, Chantiers de l’Atlantique.

The first Oasis-class ship came in 2009 and the most recent, Wonder of the Seas, just embarked on its inaugural cruise in March.
