Cruise Port Rotterdam's Mai Elmar carried out the madrina's duties
Fincantieri launched Holland America Line's Rotterdam during festivities today at Marghera.

Outfitting will now begin, with hand-over scheduled in late July 2021.

Madrina Mai Elmar

The event featured a coin ceremony for good luck, and Mai Elmar, executive director of Cruise Port Rotterdam in the Netherlands, served as the madrina.

Others on hand included shipyard director Antonio Quintano; Nico Bleichrodt, VP international sales for Holland America Line; and Cyril Tatar, VP newbuild services for Holland America Group, who only yesterday was present at Fincantieri's Monfalcone yard for the delivery of Enchanted Princess.

14th HAL ship from Marghera

Rotterdam is the sister of Pinnacle-class ships Nieuw Statendam (2018) and Koningsdam (2016), also delivered by Marghera, and the 14th Holland America vessel to emerge from the yard. It is also the seventh HAL ship to bear the Rotterdam name.

The 99,800gt Rotterdam stretches almost 300 meters, and has accommodation for 2,668 passengers in 1,340 cabins. The interior designers are Tihany Design and Yran & Storbraaten, with 'the architecture of music' as an inspirational element for many public areas.
