'Vista is Oceania Cruises’ most anticipated ship in the history of our company,' President/CEO Howard Sherman said
Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente floated out Oceania Cruises' Vista, the first in a new series of 67,000gt, 1,200-passenger Allura ships.

'Vista is Oceania Cruises’ most anticipated ship in the history of our company, and I am thrilled to be here with our partners from Fincantieri as the ship morphs from blueprints and steel into reality,' said Howard Sherman, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises. 'Vista is truly a ship of dreams, and we cannot wait to welcome her inaugural season guests next year.'

10 years since Riviera's delivery

Luigi Matarazzo, gm of Fincantieri's Merchant Ships Division, noted 10 years have passed since Sestri delivered Riviera to Oceania Cruises. 'I am sure that Vista will give life to a new class of ships that will stand out for its refinement and technological advances,' he said.

Presiding over the ceremony were Sestri director Giuseppe Torrente and Monsignor Tasca, archbishop of Genoa, who blessed the ship. The yard's madrina, Anna Trucco, smashed a bottle of prosecco against the hull.

Vista is scheduled to sail its maiden voyage from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Barcelona on April 14, 2023, followed by 12 additional European voyages prior to commencing sailings from the US to Canada/New England, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean.
