The float-out started Friday morning with the opening of the building dock valves and will culminate during the weekend.
'We are very proud to build this beautiful ship for Carnival Cruise Line. The float-out marks the beginning of a very intensive phase in the ship's construction, as we work on the inside features, and venues will start taking form,' Meyer Turku CEO Tim Meyer said.
Sea trials at summer's end
By the end of the summer, he added, Carnival Celebration will be ready for sea trials leading up to delivery later in the autumn.

'This is the exciting part, after the float-out, that’s when everything that everyone will love about the ship goes from blueprint to reality,' said Ben Clement, SVP newbuilds, refurbishments and product innovation for Carnival Cruise Line, who was on hand today.
Others present included Carnival's Brett Vitols, Petu Kummala, Juha Sinkkonen, Simona Capraro and Marco Rovati, Meyer Turku's Tapani Pulli, Tom Degerman and Jaakko Leinonen, and RINA's Massimo Muzzi.
Carnival Celebration is the second LNG-powered Excel-class ship built at Meyer Turku for the Carnival brand. Sister Mardi Gras is sailing from Port Canaveral.
Trans-Atlantic from Southampton, PortMiami home
Carnival Celebration will arrive during Carnival's 50th anniversary year. It is scheduled for a trans-Atlantic crossing from Southampton in November and will make its year-round home at PortMiami's new Terminal F.
