Numerous Meyer Weft and Disney executives witnessed the lowering of the Meyer Werft flag and the raising of the Disney Cruise Line flag on the mast.

Disney Cruise Line presented Meyer Werft with a Cinderella statuette commemorating the life-sized bronze statue that will welcome passengers in the ship’s Grand Hall.

Heading to Port Canaveral home

Following the ceremony, Capt. Marco Nogara took the helm of Disney Wish for the trans-Atlantic voyage from Bremerhaven to its new Port Canaveral home.

Enchantment is the design motif for Disney's fifth ship. It is the first in a new series of three LNG-powered vessels.

Disney Wish is scheduled to sail its maiden voyage on July 14, followed by a season of three- and four-night cruises to Nassau and Castaway Cay from Port Canaveral.
