Royal Caribbean to kick off 'Making an Icon' video series

This month Royal Caribbean International begins telling the story of Icon of the Seas, touted as 'the most transformational ship the world has ever seen.'

This will done through the people behind it, in the 'Making an Icon' monthly video series, with episodes launching in advance of when the next-generation, LNG-powered ship is unveiled this fall and leading up to its 2023 debut.

Some of the key figures appearing in a teaser clip include Royal Caribbean International President/CEO Michael Bayley, Royal Caribbean Group Chairman Richard Fain, CEO Jason LIberty, EVP maritime Harri Kulovaara, SVP Architectural Design Kelly Gonzalez and Meyer Turku CEO Tim Meyer.

 

Engineers, designers, architects ... 

'Making an Icon' will feature industrial engineers, interior designers, architects, artists, innovators, teams across entertainment and food and beverage, and others taking viewers behind the scenes to learn what goes into envisioning, designing and constructing the ship. 

Episodes will follow experts at Royal Caribbean's Innovation Lab in Miami, at Meyer Turku in Finland where construction is under way, at New York City, Toronto and beyond.
