Royal Caribbean International will be sharing the first detailed information of its next-generation Icon of the Seas later this week.

Get ready for some big surprises about the more than 200,000gt ship that's being built at Meyer Turku in Finland for 2023 delivery.

Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley has promised it will be the best of what the company has built over the past 50 years, and Jay Schneider, chief product innovation officer, called it 'the most transformational ship the world has ever seen.'

RCI's first LNG-powered ship

It also will be Royal Caribbean's first LNG-powered cruise ship, and it will use fuel cells.

So far, the company has shared only the five pillars behind Icon of the Seas: unrivaled water experiences, adrenalin-pumping thrills, the ultimate family vacation, sensational entertainment and a celebration of food and beverage.
