Colin Au, adviser to Genting Hong Kong, and Thatcher Brown, president, Dream Cruises, pushed the button to start the plasma arc in the laser center at the Papenburg yard. They were accompanied by Bernard Meyer, managing partner of Meyer Werft.

World Dream's delivery is planned for fall 2017, following sister ship Genting Dream, due to enter service this fall. Each vessel is 151,000gt, 325 meters long and 39.7 meters at the beam, with double-occupancy capacity for 3,364 passengers.

The ships will be positioned in China's premium cruise market sector.
