Costa Smeralda is being built at Meyer Turku in Finland
Costa Smeralda's construction at Meyer Turku in Finland continued with the placement of the distinctive Costa Cruises funnel. This yellow stack with a blue 'C' has identified all the Italian company's ships for the past 70 years.

Costa Smeralda will be fueled, in port and at sea, by liquefied natural gas, eliminating particulate and sulfur oxide emissions while also significantly reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides and CO2.
