Black takes over from Ian Bennett, the interim md following the departure of Teresia Fors last year. Fors had been with the company since it opened its own office in Sydney in 2008.
Black will build brand awareness of Viking’s ocean products in the Australia and New Zealand markets ahead of an inaugural visit to the two countries in early 2018.
Viking Cruises’ svp marketing Richard Marnell said Black’s extensive industry knowledge and experience will be important as the company continues to expand in the Australasian markets in the coming years.
Scenic has not announced Black’s replacement.
