'Her return is good for the Island and the port since it fortifies Royal Caribbean's commitment to Galveston and the Texas and Midwest cruise market,' CEO and port director Rodger Rees said.
Enchantment of the Seas to arrive in May
'We are also excited and looking forward to welcoming her sister ship, Enchantment of the Seas this upcoming May.'
Vision of the Seas first joined the largest cruise ship in the state of Texas, Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas, in November 2017, sailing four-and five-day Western Caribbean cruises.
This spring Vision will operate eight four- and five-night cruises and one weeklong voyage.
On May 6, sister ship Enchantment of the Seas will reposition from Port Canaveral to join Liberty of the Seas, taking on the four- and five-night cruise program.
120,000 additional passengers
Fifty-one cruises will operate to ports including Cozumel, Puerto Costa Maya and Progreso, carrying an estimated 120,000 additional passengers during the 2019 cruise season.
