David Skentelbery - a major focus will be on teamwork and producing timely and high-quality work that consistently meets and exceeds customer expectations
Grand Bahama Shipyard's board approved the appointment of 40-year marine industry veteran David Skentelbery as CEO.

He will oversee the overall direction and management of one of the world's top facilities for dry-docking and afloat repairs, refits, refurbishments and revitalizations.

Skentelbery has been with the company since January 2016, initially as chief commercial officer and more recently as acting CEO. Over four decades he has worked globally in senior management roles and board positions, both in shipping companies and shipyards.

Skentelbery is expected to play a key role in building strong relationships with government officials and other stakeholders—vital in being able to make ongoing improvements to the yard, further develop a highly skilled workforce and sustain the facility as one of Grand Bahama Island’s largest and most significant economic contributors.

A major focus will be on teamwork and producing timely and high-quality work that consistently meets and exceeds customer expectations, as well as providing opportunities to further develop the workforce needed to perform at a high level. Skentelbery will also make safety and environmental management a top priority.

Grand Bahama Shipyard forecasts a bumper year for cruise projects, with 29 ships scheduled.
