To celebrate the arrival of Royal Princess to the US West Coast, Princess Cruises partnered with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital to host three deserving employees who received 'The Royal Treatment' aboard the ship as a result of being nominated by their fellow employees for consistently going above and beyond in their work.

VIP welcome

On Saturday the women were driven to the Port of Los Angeles for a VIP welcome. They were greeted by Princess Cruises Celebrations Ambassador Jill Whelan (Vicki Stubing in 'The Love Boat') and Royal Princess crew. During their visit, they were treated to champagne, a private lunch in the Sanctuary adults-only relaxation area and treatments in the Lotus Spa.

Each went home with a gift bag filled with a luxurious Princess robe, slippers and Lotus Spa products.

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is located in Santa Clarita, the headquarters of Princess Cruises.

'Going above and beyond' in their work

'Royal Treatment' recipients included Rosella Dolan, Kris Floyd and Karen Wintterle.

Dolan, a registered nurse for 10 years, was called a 'powerhouse nurse and compassionate superwoman' who works tirelessly to ensure critical cardiac patients are taken care of by coordinating devices/vendors, physicians, multi-disciplinary teams and unit staff.

Floyd, RN case manager for 3.5 years, is a 'blessing to patients and staff ... She compassionately advocates for patients and their families and supports the nursing staff like they are her family.'

Wintterle, administrative assistant for 1.5 years, 'goes above and beyond on a daily basis to meet the needs of multiple departments … She is the first one to step up and offer help when someone is in need.'

Royal Princess debuted at the Port of Los Angeles on March 23, sailing a series of cruises to the Mexican Riviera. The ship departed April 27 for Vancouver, BC, to begin a season in Alaska before returning to Los Angeles in September.
