Search is suspended for man who jumped from AIDAluna

The Canadian Coast Guard has ended its search operation for a man who went overboard from AIDAluna in the early hours Sunday off the coast of Newfoundland.

No trace of the German pop singer and actor Daniel Kaiser-Küblböck was found in the search area, which covered 1,227 square nautical miles.

AIDAluna is en route to Halifax

On Monday AIDAluna was en route to its next scheduled transit port, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

AIDA Cruises confirmed that Holland America Line's Zuiderdam also took part in the search operation on Sunday. Both cruise vessels were released from the search by the Canadian Coast Guard after nightfall.
