Next month the Scenic Group will change the name of Evergreen Tours to Emerald Tours to identify with the global Emerald Cruises brand.

Evergreen Tours was launched in Victoria, Australia, in 1980 and was purchased by the Scenic Group in 1988.

Emerald Waterways launched in 2014

In 2008 Evergreen chartered ships for European river cruising and in 2014 launched Emerald Waterways with its own custom-built star-ships — Emerald Sky and Emerald Star.

More star-ships were added to the fleet and in 2020 Scenic launched the Emerald Yacht Cruises brand, with super yacht Emerald Azzurra coming on line in January 2022.

Cruise lines merge

As reported here, Emerald Waterways and Emerald Yacht Cruises went under the single brand Emerald Cruises in 2021.

Director of sales, marketing and product for Emerald Cruises in Australia Angus Crichton said Evergreen’s 11-day Eastern Europe land journey has been one of the best-selling tours for many years.

Crichton said this connects with Emerald Cruises’ 15-day ‘Splendours of Europe’ river cruise.

‘So the change of name to Emerald Tours provides a clear brand alignment and is a very natural fit,’ he said.
