Four river cruise companies formed a cooperative in Australia as an answer to the huge marketing presence of ocean cruise lines.

‘Collaborating with key industry players AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways, Tauck and Uniworld, the River Cruise Collection is a strategic marketing group created with the sole purpose of growing the river cruise market share in the region,’ Editorial Partnerships Manager Daisy Melwani of Big Splash Media said.

She said the River Cruise Collective will dispel the myths that river cruisers are mainly older travellers.

River Cruise Showcase

Melwani said the cooperative is timely, with Cruise Lines International Association Australasia holding a River Cruise Showcase on August 29 ahead of the official welcome cocktail party for delegates attending Cruise360 2024 in Sydney on August 30.

Converted

‘Having been a convert to river cruising myself, I am excited to embark on this journey with the industry to grow the sector and provide Australians with a more holistic view of the river cruise experience,’ she said.
