NCLH chooses AtmosAir for its 28-ship fleet

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings partnered with AtmosAir Solutions to install air disinfection systems across its 28 ships.

These comprise Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Continuous active COVID disinfection

The new air filtration system technology will feature continuous active COVID disinfection through bi-polar ionization in the air and on surfaces, an all-natural solution with no harmful chemicals, radiation or by-products. NCLH said one of the advantages of the bi-polar ionization process is that air purification occurs within the desired space, treating a larger volume of air, instead of relying on contaminants passing through the air handler unit.

The company added that tests performed by Microchem Laboratory confirmed the presence of coronavirus was reduced by 99.92% within 30 minutes of exposure to AtmosAir.

One of many investments

'While it is impossible to completely eliminate the risks associated with COVID-19, the AtmosAir technology is one of the many investments the company is making to enhance its already rigorous health and safety standards,' said Robin Lindsay, EVP vessel operations, NCLH. 'We are working diligently on our multi-layered strategy for health and safety and AtmosAir’s proven all-natural bi-polar ionization technology will add yet another layer of protection on board our ships.'

Steve Levine, president & CEO of AtmosAir Solutions, said the system 'adds a significant layer of protection, giving people confidence in the air they breathe.'

AtmosAir’s patented technology continually and proactively attacks coronavirus and other viruses, bacteria, spores and volatile organic compounds quickly and effectively in the air and on surfaces, rather than requiring the air to be filtered first. It works by releasing ions through the HVAC system that bond with viruses, breaking down their cellular structure and rendering them harmless.

Virgin Voyages another cruise line customer

Virgin Voyages also selected AtmosAir for Scarlet Lady and sister ships.
