Scarlet Lady's first sailing is now planned for Oct. 16
Virgin Voyages further delayed the introduction of Scarlet Lady.

The first sailing is now planned Oct. 16.

'We’re focused on being ready to get back on the open ocean with some exciting innovations focused on protecting the well-being of both our sailors (passengers) and our incredible crew — which we’ll update you on soon,' CEO Tom McAlpin said.

Double credit and $500 on-board spending

Those impacted will be auto-credited double the amount they've paid to date toward their voyage fare. And if those travelers book a new cruise before June 30, they'll get up to $500 to spend on board. Otherwise, a refund can be requested by the end of 2020.

'Smooth Sailing' with new introductory pricing, flexible cancellation

Virgin Voyages is also launching a 'Smooth Sailing' program for 2020 with new introductory pricing and more flexible booking policies.

For sailings through Dec. 16, final payment date will be reduced to 60 days, from 120 days before departure currently, and customers can cancel up to 48 hours before sailing and receive a 100% voyage credit.
