Gregg Zalkin, a 15-year veteran of Carnival Corp., joined Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings as destinations programs senior manager in the commercial development & onshore design department.

He reports to Steven Moeller, SVP commercial development.

Supports two groups

Zalkin will be supporting two groups: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruiess and Regent Seven Seas Cruises' ground operator partners, and the company's destination services team by monitoring shore excursions agreements, tracking compliance, executing RFPs and analyzing results.

Left Carnival in downsizing

Zalkin left Carnival Corp. in May 2020 during the pandemic downsizing. He had been senior manager of the global destinations services and sourcing team. One of his accomplishments was the Tour Operator Gateway system, a B2B sourcing portal for Carnival’s nine brands to procure 30,000 tours globally.

For the past year he was with REEF Technology, a Miami-based start-up that manages 5,000 parking garages and is trying to repurpose spaces on the lots with revenue-generating ideas like food trucks and healthcare facilities.

'Interesting business,' Zalkin said, but he's 'thrilled to be back in the cruise industry.'
