Mein Schiff 2 emerged from the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz following an extensive makeover during a routine drydock.</p

320 dockyard workers and more than 800 crew members worked together on servicing technical systems and engines, the exterior paintwork was completely renewed, with 5,000sq mtr of paint applied.

The period in drydock was also used to install energy saving LED lamps in the public areas. In total, 2,500 lamps were replaced.

Public spaces were also overhauled with a new 48dq mtr outdoor yoga area added on Deck 12. Interior carpets have been replaced and flooring renewed in the outdoor areas.

The 24-hour snack bar, Cliff 24, now sports new exterior cladding.

‘A tight schedule was imposed on us with the drydock, but we managed to get the work finished in the time allotted [seven days], and Mein Schiff 2 has now left the yard and is heading for the Caribbean,’ reported Richard Vogel, ceo of TUI Cruises.
