The UK-based global welfare charity Sailors' Society received an extraordinary cash donation from Crystal Serenity crew.

Four people were needed to carry the huge number of coins in currencies from across the world, weighing 137 kilograms/302 pounds. The donation also included vintage coins dating back to the 1950s and 1960s and even some casino chips.

"Every penny helps'

'Everyone at Sailors’ Society is immensely grateful to all those unknown individuals who have kindly donated these coins to us. Every penny we collect helps us to support seafarers and their families across the globe,' Sailors' Society CEO Sara Baade said.

Among the currencies were notes and coins from Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, the US, Canada, Denmark, China, South Korea, Greece and Japan.
