Celebrity Constellation called at Singapore for the first time Thursday for a debut season in the region with six sailings ranging from 10-15 nights through to April.

The 91,000gt vessel with 2,038 lower berths arrived in Singapore at the end of a 15 night sailing which took in ports in the Middle East, Sri Lanka and India starting in Abu Dhabi and visiting Dubai, Mumbai, Goa, New Mangalore, Cochin, Colombo and  Phuket.

The vessel leaves tonight for a ten-night sailing to Thailand and Vietnam featuring, Ko Samui, Bangkok(Laemchabang)  and Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, before returning to Singapore.

Other two week cruises include destinations such as Hue/Danang (Chan May), Hong Kong, Manila, Boracay, Kota Kinabalu,  Bandar Seri Begawan, and Ko Samui.

Celebrity's Apple Woo, recently-appointed head of sales and marketing for the Asia region, told SCN, 'Celebrity Cruises awareness has increased in Asia as we increased our number of ships either homeporting or visiting throughout the region, including Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Japan and China.'

She added, 'this gives us an opportunity to showcase Celebrity Cruises to trade partners and VIPs to give them a greater understanding of our brand.'

Currenlty the number of Asian guests who sail with us is relatively small and therefore we are very focused on working with our trade partners to attract more affluent consumers, she remarked.

Celebrity Millennium which is currently in her fifth consecutive Asian season, is being deployed from Singapore, Hong Kong and Yokohama and featuring over 20 cruises ranging from six to 16 nights in North and Southeast Asia until May 2017.
