'It is my first visit, but it won't be my last,' a clearly delighted D'Aoust told journalists. 'It seemed so far from Washington, but, in fact, it was very easy to get here.'
She took the opportunity to introduce CLIA Australasia's newly appointed md, Joel Katz, who officially takes up the job in January.
Katz, who was born in South Africa, is currently living in the UK where he has been representing Grand Circle Cruise Line.
He said he is excited to be returning to Australia where he worked for Sarina Bratton from the time she founded Orion Expedition Cruises until it was acquired by Lindblad Expeditions. (Bratton is a Cruise360 panellist).
D'Aoust said CLIA's three main goals are to create a globalised organisation, to unify the industry and to enhance value to members.
