Named after AmaWaterways co-owner and evp Kristin Karst, AmaKristina joins the fleet as the company marks its 15th anniversary.

AmaWaterways' 19th vessel is currently sailing its maiden voyage from Amsterdam en route to Basel. The christening ceremony, led by godmother Karst, is set for May 10 in Lahnstein.

'The arrival of every new ship for AmaWaterways is incredibly special, but this ship notably represents 15 years of inspired design and innovation,' said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. He predicted passengers will 'love the luxurious amenities and spaciousness and style of the public areas and staterooms.'

The sister of AmaViola and AmaStella, AmaKristina accommodates 158 passengers and features connecting cabins and triple occupancy rooms tailored for AmaWaterways' growing multigenerational family and group markets. The vessel also offers a greater number of the line's signature twin-balcony (French and outside balconies) staterooms.

Outfitted in warm colors, AmaKristina offers an array of communal spaces for socializing and three dining venues including The Chef’s Table, an intimate dining experience with an exquisite, multi-course tasting menu paired with hand-selected regional wines all at no additional cost. Other features include a sun deck with running track, heated pool and swim-up bar, elevator with enhanced access to the lower deck and expanded fitness center, hair salon and spa.

Among the amenities are free ship-wide Wi-Fi, in-room entertainment-on-demand system and included beer and fine wine with lunch and dinner.

AmaKristina will operate a number of Rhine sailings between Amsterdam and Basel this season including a wine-themed cruise on Nov. 11 and Christmas market cruises starting Nov. 25.

The seven-night 'Enchanting Rhine' itinerary offers a choice of 21 included guided tours with many escorted hiking and biking options for the active traveler. Or, passengers can explore independently using the complimentary bicycles carried on board.

Pre- or post-city stays in Lucerne and Zurich are also available.
