‘Our staff is ablaze with purple and we had purple cupcakes for morning tea to celebrate International Women’s Day 2019 and the amazing women in our organisation and industry,’ said Steve Odell, svp and md Asia Pacific of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

50/50 gender balance

‘Since launching our local office in 2015, combining professional excellence and gender equality across NCLH’s regional leadership team has been a priority, with our eight-strong executive leadership group being made up of four women and four men, achieving our desired gender balance of 50/50,’ Odell said.

‘Moving forward towards 2020 and beyond, continuing to develop initiatives, programmes and opportunities targeted at attracting, developing and retaining outstanding female talent remains a top priority, with 75% of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ employees across the local business being female.

Results, not gender

‘While our female employees would be the first to request we celebrate their successes based on results versus gender, which we do, International Women’s Day provides a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise all the talented women across our business who make an invaluable contribution to our success.’
