No significant damage from the La Spezia incident was reported to Celebrity Constellation, pictured during a past call at Civitavecchia. Stormy weather has been impacting the Mediterranean for several days
During a squall at Italy's Port of La Spezia Monday afternoon, Celebrity Constellation's mooring lines broke, causing the ship to drift from the pier in high winds. Its stern made incidental contact with the bow of Costa Magica, docked behind.

No injuries or significant damage were reported on either ship.

Celebrity Constellation subsequently maneuvered within the harbor basin and dropped anchor until the squall passed.

Costa Magica passengers didn't feel an impact

The contact was so slight that passengers did not notice, according to a statement from Costa Cruises.

Costa Magica remained docked at La Spezia port, waiting for the weather to improve, and departed early Tuesday morning, en route for Palma.

According to Marine Traffic, Celebrity Constellation eventually continued to Civitavecchia, where it was docked Tuesday.
