Port of Halifax veteran George Malec is retiring

'Since joining the organization in 1985, George has been a tremendous asset and dedicated team player. He is well-respected within the Port of Halifax and the larger business community across Atlantic Canada,' said Karen Oldfield, president and ceo, Halifax Port Authority.

Oldfield added Malec has 'earned his retirement many times over, and on behalf of all of us at the Halifax Port Authority, we wish George and his family continued success.'

A successor has not been announced.
