Beginning with roles at Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises, in 2001 she was appointed head of marketing for the Ocean Village start-up, where the brand grew from a standing start with one of the best recognised straplines in the business in 'the cruise for people who don't do cruises'.
Haynes joined Cunard as head of public relations in 2011, with responsibilities including this year's 175th anniversary events and culminating in the Three Queens Liverpool Salute that attracted over 1.3m spectators and international coverage.
