The World is searching for McAlpin's successor
The World is still seeking a successor to Tom McAlpin, the former president and ceo who left to lead the new Virgin Cruises venture.

The World is currently conducting a search, a spokeswoman confirmed.

McAlpin had helmed the residential community at sea since July 2009. In early December, the Virgin Group announced he would head its cruise initiative as chief executive.
