Carnival closes $4bn private notes offer, convertible notes option fully subscribed

Carnival Corp. & plc closed its private offering of $4bn in 11.5% first-priority senior secured notes due 2023.

In addition, initial purchasers of the previously announced private offering of 5.75% convertible senior notes due 2023 fully exercised the remainder of their option to purchase an additional $62.5m in the convertible notes. This offering also closed today.

Net proceeds from the secured notes and the convertible notes are expected to be used for general corporate purposes.
