Seatrade Cruise Global postponed to early autumn, Virtual series planned for 1H

Seatrade Cruise Global 2021 is postponed, with alternative options being weighed for a live event in Miami in early autumn, while Seatrade Europe will continue, as scheduled, in Hamburg.

Meanwhile, a series of Seatrade Cruise Virtual events are planned for the first half of the year.

Group Director Mary Bond said Seatrade Cruise made these decisions after careful consideration, many discussions with the cruise community and in consultation with Cruise Lines International Association and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association.

'We are very aware from these conversations that cruise lines are hard at work advocating and preparing for the safe and gradual resumption of cruise operations around the world — with many successful sailings that have already occurred in Europe and other markets with protocols working as intended. We also recognize the desire to safely come together at a live event, and the advanced logistical and budgetary planning that would be required of our exhibitors and attendees,' Bond said in an announcement.

The announcement continued: 'Please be assured that Seatrade Cruise Global will be hosted under the All Secure standards, a detailed protocol of health and safety measures developed collaboratively with industry associations, event organizers and venues, along with input from health, government and local authorities, in order to provide the highest levels of hygiene and safety for our visitors. Virtual attendance options will also be provided should that be a preferred way to access the conference program'

Seatrade Europe Sept. 8-10

Seatrade Europe will continue, allowing the cruise community ample opportunity to come together in either location most convenient, or at both events.

'The whole Hamburg Messe team is looking forward to hosting a successful and lively Seatrade Europe in September in Hamburg, and are proud to be able to provide a forum for the European cruise industry as it resumes safe sailing in earnest after the difficult circumstances of 2020,' said Claudia Johannsen, business unit director, Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.
