Mivan secures more cruise refurbs; launches Super Yacht division
Cruise ship outfitter Mivan has secured a number of projects in the past six months, totaling around £5.5m.

This includes contracts for All Leisure Group, Thomson Cruises and P&0 Cruises. The refit of Thomson Celebration was the company’s first project with TUI UK and took place in Limmasol, Cyprus at the start of November and included refits of the Lido, Show Lounge, Restaurant, Casino and Reception.

The company has also completed the refurbishment of the former Alexander Von Humboldt which was renamed Voyager yesterday in Portsmouth for Voyages of Discovery. Key Mivan additions to the ship include: The new ‘Scott’s Lounge’ , the Explorer Club, a Look-Out Lounge and a terrace added to the Veranda Restaurant.

Looking forward to 2013, Mivan is due to undertake a refit for long standing client Princess Cruises, onboard Coral Princess in January. The three week project will be carried out at the Grand Bahama Shipyard and Mivan’s scope of works will include refurbishment to the Casino, International Café, Art Gallery and Wedding Chapel.

Over the forthcoming months Mivan will also be launching a new brand - Mivan Super Yacht, which will offer a bespoke interior fit-out service onboard luxury vessels.

Having carried out an extensive research project in partnership with Invest NI, the company found a direct correlation between the prime residential and superyacht markets. Mivan Prime has built up an track record in the luxury residential market and the progression into the superyacht market which enjoys a similar client base and high end finishes is a natural step for the company.
