Avoya Travel taps Phil Cappelli as chief sales officer

Avoya Travel hired Phil Cappelli, formerly of Signature Travel Network, as chief sales officer.

The position is a new addition to Avoya’s strategic leadership team.

Avoya said Cappelli’s 'stellar reputation, relationships and experience will play a pivotal role' in ensuring it continues to flourish in an evolving marketplace.

Cappelli is tasked with leading and accelerating growth by planning and executing initiatives such as expanding the company’s Independent Agency Network, deepening partnerships with suppliers, opening doors to strategic acquisitions and developing the products and services that set Avoya apart.

Oversees 100-strong team

Cappelli will oversee an extensive team of over 100 employees including Steve Hirshan, SVP sales; Ashley Hunter, SVP partnerships; and their respective teams.

Jeff Anderson, co-CEO of Avoya Travel, said Cappelli's 'qualifications and extensive experience will enhance operations and expand what we can deliver to travelers, Independent Agencies and suppliers.'

Cappelli brings 25 years travel industry experience, most recently as SVP preferred partnerships at Signature Travel Network. Prior to that, he was USA president at Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, and held various management roles at Tauck World Discovery.
