Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings promoted Capt. Bjørn Ove Hansen to SVP marine operations, succeeding Capt. Luigi Razeto, who retired.

Formerly VP nautical and port operations, Hansen has 31 years of experience at NCLH in shoreside and shipboard leadership capacities. The company said he has been instrumental in leading nautical and port operations teams through the development and implementation of the fleet's navigational policies and procedures, strategic ports of call, vessel deployments and changes, and exploration of new itineraries.

Hansen joined NCL in 2002, initially sailing as a staff captain, before going shoreside.

Capt. Razeto acknowledged

Razeto has overseen marine operations the past eight years, following nearly seven years before that at Prestige Cruise Holdings (Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises), where he was VP nautical operations and compliance prior to PCH's acquisition by NCL.

'We would like to thank Capt. Luigi Razeto for his remarkable contributions to NCLH over the last 15 years and wish him well in his retirement,' the company said.
