'Carnival is taking it to the next level of fun while being committed to children's causes and supporting our military families and veterans,' Carnival Jubilee godmother Gwen Stefani said
Three-time Grammy Award winner Gwen Stefani will serve as the godmother for Carnival Jubilee.

She'll take part in the ship's Feb. 24 naming festivities in Galveston.

Stefani achieved global success as a songwriter, performer, charismatic frontwoman of No Doubt and as a multi-platinum solo artist. She returned for her seventh season as a coach on the Emmy-winning NBC series 'The Voice' this past fall.

Philanthropic work

Her philanthropic work includes children's causes.

Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy said Stefani has demonstrated a 'commitment to our Carnival values, including promoting diversity and inclusion, supporting charitable causes, being a leader in her field, and of course, having fun.'

Taking it to the next level

For Stefani's part, she said: 'Carnival is taking it to the next level of fun while being committed to children's causes and supporting our military families and veterans.'

To that point, bidding is open for a customized pair of Carnival Jubilee cowboy boots that are being auctioned to support Carnival partner Operation Homefront.

Carnival Jubilee, which entered service Dec. 23, sails year-round from the Port of Galveston.
