McIIvaine, most recently director of business development, Northwest region, has been with Ponant six years.
In her new role, she will oversee trade business activities and partnerships, and manage the field sales team in the US and Canada. She also will focus on delivering deeper engagement travel agency partners.
Before Ponant, McIlvaine worked for adventure and expedition tour operators, including Zegrahm Expeditions. She has experience managing guest and field services and was a part of shipboard expedition teams sailing to more than 60 countries and seven continents.

Theresa Gatta's contributions acknowledged
Gatta is retiring after 40 years in the travel industry, and six years of leading Ponant North America's sales division. She is credited with broadening and strengthening partnerships with travel advisors and consortia partners, while developing a fully integrated sales team to grow the North American market. She also successfully navigated pandemic challenges with grace and perseverance.
'We look forward to Ellen taking on an expanded role with Ponant,' said Navin Sawhney, CEO, Americas. 'She will continue to bring her extensive brand knowledge and experience in nurturing sales to the travel advisor community.
